Just wanna highlight this, in case some people might take it as official work, lol...

For the ones who knows me in person that should all know that I have been a super avid Gears fan since I was young, and my love for it was also the original seed that were sown in my heart, navigating me to jump into game industry.

Previously, I made a lot of Gears fan arts that showing my biggest love to this one of my favorite game franchises, unfortunately, many of them were just disappeared and couldn't be found. Now I am already running into a more senior role in this industry, so I think it's cool to take it as an new opportunity to try to make something for it again, so here it is!

My idea is quite simple and straight forward, as a solid gamer of it, I really like to see something unique that could bring some brand new blood to this long time franchise. In terms of that, I was thinking what if we make a super upright but conservative Chinese guy for this squad? He's super proud of his own culture and customize his armor and outfit by himself to get an echo of that？With some very unique material over it, like jade, rope or even tassel？I also tried blending some kind of iconic ancient Chinese pattern/motif into his armor design as well, making them in a more "Futuristic" way. So this is basically what I want for him.

Generally, on the design aspect, I don't really make him highly stylized which like what my works used to be, cuz that's not the way what Gears should represent in visual. In that case, I tried to find a balance that could be more appropriate for him to be showing as a result.

For the weapon, I just customized its design a bit base on the classic Mark 3 Lancer Assault Rifle!
