Exorcist-all in one place

Hey everyone!

So here I just wanna make a collection of all my EXORCIST works in one place, and will keep updating this once there's any new works jumping in.

Additionally, I guess some of you seem curious about the world of my personal project - EXORCIST. Well, here's the scoop in a nutshell.

EXORCIST is basically inspired by ancient Chinese Daoist culture and those quirky Hong Kong supernatural movies. If you're into either, you'll probably dig what I'm cooking up.

I've been obsessed with Daoist culture since forever. Their philosophical vibes/deep thoughts and flashy spells just get me, you know? And those classic Hong Kong vampire movies from the 80s and 90s? Just those most of which starred Lam Ching Ying. Absolute gems! They've got this unique blend of storytelling, killer action, and a dash of everything - humor, horror, mystery. So, I thought, why not blend all this awesomeness into a game? And that's where the idea for EXORCIST's characters first sparked.

As you all know, I'm a concept artist who's always focused on characters. I love using my characters to tell stories. So, when it comes to designing any character for EXORCIST, I aim for uniqueness in their overall silhouette to make them stand out. But I also sprinkle in some intriguing/reasonable details to enhance their identity and personality. It's all about the big picture and those little quirks that can just make them memorable.

On the flip side, when designing them, I want to convey some additional imagery that can be imagined in the mind, like how they move, how they use weapons, or how they cast spells. These are all fascinating aspects, especially in gaming. As players, we want to fully immerse ourselves in the emotions our characters evoke, whether we're controlling them or encountering them in the game. We want to make friends with them, or even "become them" over hours of gameplay, from a few to several dozen. It's all about that connection and the journey they take us on.

When it comes to their overall attire, personally, I'm aiming for a balance between ancient and modern vibes – like 70% ancient and 30% modern. I don't want this theme to veer into some "weird cyberpunk Taoist" direction, even though I've dabbled in sci-fi character designs in my past works. So, for the most part, I want them to evoke that specific era from the past. It's about striking that nostalgic chord while still keeping it fresh with a touch of modern flair.

For EXORCIST, the art direction I am aiming for is slightly stylized, focusing mainly on the balance of proportions and the definition of detail amounts because for what I could imagine, this direction can give the characters more expressiveness in aspects such as diversity of shape design, exaggeration of movement, and variety of material.

I'm still continuously spending my spare time to design more characters in order to expand the world. I want to thank you all for your continued support here, and hopefully, one day, I can turn these things into a game or at least a “Concept Art Book”.
